Richard L. Duffey, DVM

Dr. Duffey was raised in Arlington, Virginia. He attended the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology and a Masters Degree in Medical Microbiology. He received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UGA in 1988. After graduation, he spent   2½ years in a Dairy and Large Animal practice in northeastern Pennsylvania. Beginning in 1990 he spent 4½ years managing a Small Animal practice in Woodstock, Georgia. Dr. Duffey purchased Winder Animal Hospital in 1994. . Now empty-nesters, Dr. Duffey, his wife Anne live in Winder with their cat, Mr. Bigglesworth.  Their son Jefferson recently graduated from UGA and their son Davis is currently attending Georgia Southwestern College.

Katherine Fowler, DVM

Dr. Fowler grew up in Washington, DC and went to college in upstate New York.  After trying a few different jobs, including office work in DC, teaching high school in Ann Arbor, Michigan and working in a research lab in upstate New York, she was sure that she wanted to be a veterinarian.  She studied veterinary medicine at Cornell University.  After graduation she moved to Georgia to be with her husband, Alex, who is a professor at UGA.  She joined our practice in 2003.  She and her husband live in Athens, Georgia with their son James, their dog Penny and their cat Lola.

Debbie Lord, Practice Manager

A native of Georgia, Debbie has a combined background in business and legal administration as well as the veterinary industry.  She worked for for over 8 years with an equine veterinarian who was her mentor into the veterinary industry.  She assisted in a technical capacity  and worked as bookkeeper for the practice.  After joining the team at Winder Animal Hospital in 1998, she obtained veterinary assistant certification and completed two years of veterinary technology courses through Cedar Valley College.  Her more than 20 years in the veterinary industry and corporate world have prepared her to deal with the daily challenges as Practice Manager for Winder Animal Hospital.  Debbie lives in Jackson County with her husband Tony.  They share their farm with two dogs, four cats and two horses.

Megan Ingram, Office Manager

Megan started work at  Winder Animal Hospital in 1999 as a part-time kennel assistant then promoted to client services representative after about six months. Starting her thirteenth year with the clinic she has been promoted to Office Manager.  Megan married her husband, Travis, in May 2009 and they are now proud parents of a beautiful baby daughter, Lily.  They share their home with their two dogs, and two cats. They also keep several "yard" chickens, all of which have names.  But Franny, the speckled sussix chicken, was very special.  She was well known at the clinic since she had undergone crop surgery twice.  Clients were quite suprised to come in and see Franny walking around the reception area in the days following her surgery.  Although Franny is no longer with us she is fondly remembered. Megan and Travis both love to ride motorcycles in the beautiful North Georgia mountains.
