Richard L. Duffey, DVM
Dr. Duffey was raised in Arlington, Virginia. He attended the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and a Masters Degree in Medical Microbiology. He received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UGA in 1988. After graduation, he spent 2½ years in a Dairy and Large Animal practice in northeastern Pennsylvania. Beginning in 1990 he spent 4½ years managing a Small Animal practice in Woodstock, Georgia. Dr. Duffey purchased Winder Animal Hospital in 1994. He has built the practice from one doctor, and two staff members to a staff of twelve, including one part-time and two full-time veterinarians. Now empty-nesters, Dr. Duffey, his wife Anne live in Winder with their cat, Mr. Bigglesworth and their dog, Riley. Their son Jefferson recently graduated from UGA and their son Davis is currently attending Georgia Southwestern College. |

Katherine Fowler, DVM
Dr. Fowler grew up in Washington, DC and went to college in upstate New York. After trying a few different jobs, including office work in DC, teaching high school in Ann Arbor, Michigan and working in a research lab in upstate New York, she was sure that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She studied veterinary medicine at Cornell University. After graduation she moved to Georgia to be with her husband, Alex, who is a professor at UGA. She joined our practice in 2003. She and her husband live in Athens, Georgia with their son James, their dog Penny and their cat Lola. |

Kim E. Lathrup, DVM
Dr. Lathrup grew up in Decatur, Georgia, attended undergrad at the University of Georgia and received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. She has been with Winder Animal Hospital since 1997. Before coming to work at Winder, she spent 11 years at Dekalb Gwinnett Animal Emergency Clinic and worked as a relief vet in the Atlanta area. Dr. Lathrup also stays busy helping to run a family business, the largest Antique Mall in the Lake Oconee area. She and her granddaughter, Marley Ann, live on a ten acre far with and their cat "Killy, Killy". The farm has been home to many stray, orphaned or injured animals, including sheep, squirrels, a large goat, chickens and many many dogs and cats!!! Dr. Lathrup is a great assett to the team! |

Bonnie Ballard, DVM
Dr. Ballard has worked in veterinary medicine for more than 30 years, starting as a veterinary assistant, then as a veterinary technician. In 1994 she graduated from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. She is the Director of the Veterinary Technology Program at Gwinnett Technical College, which she started in 1997. She has received numerous awards for teaching and is co-editor and contributor of "Exotic Animal Medicine for The Veterinary Technician." She is also co-author of "Restraint and Handling for Veterinary Technicians and Assistants." She lives in Oglethorpe County with her husband, Brian, two cats, Disney and Gizmo, a turtle named ET, and two miniature donkeys, Nicholas and Goblin. She has worked at Winder Animal Hospital since April 1997. |

Debbie Lord, Practice Manager
A native of Georgia, Debbie has a combined background in business and legal administration as well as the veterinary industry. She worked for for over 8 years with an equine veterinarian who was her mentor into the veterinary industry. She assisted in a technical capacity and worked as bookkeeper for the practice. After joining the team at Winder Animal Hospital in 1998, she obtained veterinary assistant certification and completed two years of veterinary technology courses through Cedar Valley College. Her more than 20 years in the veterinary industry and corporate world have prepared her to deal with the daily challenges as Practice Manager for Winder Animal Hospital. Debbie lives in Jackson County with her husband Tony. They share their 13 acre farm with two dogs, four cats and four horses. |

Megan Ingram, Office Manager
Megan started work at
Winder
Animal
Hospital in 1999 as a part-time kennel assistant then promoted to client services representative after about six months. Starting her thirteenth year with the clinic she has been promoted to Office Manager. Megan married her husband, Travis, in May 2009. They share their home with their dog, Harley, and two cats, Gibbs and Juice. They also keep several "yard" chickens, all of which have names. But Franny, the speckled sussix chicken, is very special. She is well known at the clinic since she has undergone crop surgery two times. Clients were quite suprised to come in and see Franny walking around the reception area in the days following her surgerys. Megan and Travis both love to ride motorcycles in the beautiful North Georgia mountains. Life is good!!!

Michelle Arguto, Client Services Representative
Michelle has been with Winder Animal Hospital since December 2002 as client services representative. She is the mother of two daughters, Kimberly and Kristen, and recently grandmother to her new grandson, Landon. Michelle and daughter Kristen share their home with their two dogs, Ellie and Rocky, and their cat Ranger. Michelle also enjoys trail riding on her spotted saddle horse, Rusty. |

Susan Cadle, Client Services Representative
Susan is a delightful addition to our team as client services representative. She has several years experience in customer service as well as office administration. She lives in Statham with her husband Shaun, her son Andrew and their two dogs and two cats. |

Bette Green, Client Hospitality Coordinator
Bette was born an Army brat in 1944 and married her husband, Harold in 1963. They have a son, twin daughters, and six grandchildren. Bette became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1989 but prefers working with her furry, four-legged friends. She began working for Dr. Duffey as a receptionist in 1997. She currently manages Client Hospitality. Bette enjoys Braves Baseball and NASCAR auto racing. She and her husband are owned by three wonderful cats and two great dogs. |

Michele Godina, Registered Veterinary Technician
Michele has been a registered veterinary technician since 1987. She worked in California at a small animal practice prior to moving to Georgia. After staying home for six years with her children, she joined the team at Winder Animal Hospital in June 2000. She lives in Bethlehem, Georgia with her husband, Jerry and their three children, Elizabeth, Megan and Joseph, their dogs, Darla and Bonnie, three cats, three lizards and one snake. Michele is an active member of Bethlehem First United Methodist Church. |

Jody Woodard, Registered Veterinary Technician
Jody graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Gwinnett Technical College in 2004 and joined the WAH team in July 2006. She lives in Winder with her husband Trampus, their daughter Emily and three cats, A.J. Alex, and Devon. Jody brings a lot of enthusiasm to the hospital. Her genuine care and concern for the patients and her southern charm make our clients feel at home. |

Heather Bohmann, Veterinary Assistant
Heather started work at Winder Animal Hospital in 2003. She is a native of Dallas, Texas where she lived until July of 2000 when she married her husband Chris and relocated to Georgia. They reside in Bethlehem, Georgia with their Great Pyranees "kids" Moby and Harvey. Heather enjoys coming to work everyday, meeting new people and learning about their pets! |

Gina Lang, Veterinary Assistant
Gina joined our team as Veterinary Assistant in January 2010. She was in retail management for 20 years before "finding her true calling" in the veterinary industry in 2006. She and her husband, Kent, live in Jefferson with their five "kids"/cats, Harley, Kahlua, Corduroy, Argyle and Lambeau. In her spare time, she loves to watch football.... "Go Packers!" |
